Sh.
Lakhan Pal Mangla was born on 26th July 1931
in a poor family. He lost his mother when he was only four. He did his
matriculation from Palwal after which he got the
scholarship and completed his F.Sc. from Aggarwal
College Mathura IN 1950.
He became a member of the Sangh and went to
Jalandhar for higher studies.
There he learnt and earned at the same time.
He gave tutorials to students for eight hours
after his own studies. After completing his higher studies, he got his pladers’
License from Pubjab High Court and started his practice
in Palwal After proving his mettle on the professional
front, he worked towards giving something back to
society.
He
rallied for the cause of girl education and in 1984, he
laid the foundation of the first girls’ College in the
area for the completion of which he had to run from
pillar to post and got the acceptance of the Govt. in
1988. But
this acceptance came with a condition that Govt. will
not provide any financial aid for the next three years.
After those tough three years, the govt.finally
gave in and the college was given financial aid.
Each and every
brick of this college bears a mute testimony to the fact
that he has given his sweat and blood to this college
and the result is there for everyone to see and admire.
He is a
visionary and a strong willed person who mobilized
several resources to build an institution that has
turned out to be the entire regions’ torch bearer.
From a very humble beginning of having only 99
students in Arts and Commerce Faculty, today we have
Science Faculty, B.Com. Computer Application, B.Sc.
Comp. Science and B.C.A. Several Add-on-Courses have
been started to empower the young generation.
Talks with the govt. are still on to have BBA ,
B.Ed. and M.A. in different subject.
